Culture Exchange Begins from a Dish

Swiss Culture @ Suntec City Mall

For my farewell, the colleagues suggested Swiss Culture. I remember going to this place a couple of years back to try the cheese fondue. Find it overhyped and hardly the best in town. So even though I heard rave reviews about the chocolate fondue, I had never been too keen.

We sat at the alfresco dining area outside. Nice!

Chicken Zurich Style

As all foodie outings go, the day's focus was on main courses. I picked the Chicken Zurich Style, while visualizing the usual stuff - whole thigh or quarter breast meat with chips or mashed potatoes and salad. Boring choice, but hey I prefer to get expensive treats from people that I'm closer to, or have known almost forever. Oit! Rasa Sayang Buffet!!!! Hahaha ;p

Surprisingly it came in a very refreshing combo. It saved me from all the hassle of meat-cutting, and jingling of cutleries and plates. The meat is cut to be slightly tinier than your average bacon strips. Throw in some sliced mushrooms and soak everything in the generous gravy. Heavenly! The rosti is a bit on the mediocre side though.

Everyone else was happy with their food too.

Pricing wise, definitely not a place you would want to spend on lunch everyday, but a decent place to take your other half or friends on casual Saturday evening dinners.

Sirloin Steak

Swiss Pork Sausage

Seafood Pasta

Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Ngee Ann City

A few weeks back (admittedly an overdue post) I went for an unofficial chinese new year meal. Not too surprisingly the place was filled to the brim and we stayed in queue for about half an hour.

But the food was well worth the wait. Most Crystal Jade outlets have not been known to disappoint, and this one is no exception.

Chicken with pumpkin and yam sauce. Mouth-watering!

My other staple diet. Sang Meen.

Spinach with Three types of Eggs

Century Egg Congee with Sliced Chicken

Glutinous Rice and Eggs

I have left out a dish or two that did not perform so well with our taste buds. Other than that, everything else was excellent!

Fat Spring Roll Dipped in Laksa Soup

Price: RM2
Location: Hawker Centre near TAR College, Tanjung Bungah
Taste: Superb
Effect: Secretly Fulfilled and Blisful *eat at your own risk*

This was part of my lunch today. This fat spring roll tasted fantastic when dipped in laksa soup.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Dee turns 25 today! Yay!

Wishing her a fantastic birthday and a very lovely year ahead =)

Babe: it's true you're getting another year older. But fret not, you're getting healthier and happier by the day right! Love you loads..

Roast Beef @ Durty Nelly's

NOTE: Everything in this blog will point to a big sign saying
"Savoury, mouth-watering Penang pleasures or Singapore delights".

My fellow glutmate is designing Glorious Foodies' banner, while I am here acting busy posting my first entry, so here goes.

One of my lifelong passion is food, which I believe is the same for many of us.

Eating is not merely about filling the stomach; what matters most is the experience one gets during and after the meal.

The experience of eating good food sticks to your mind, just like how I had this fantastic Roast Beef at Durty Nelly's (Irish pub and restaurant) sometime last week.

I am still thinking about the excellent gravy and Yorkshire Pudding (fancy name for the muffin) until today!

I almost never take beef that is well done because they are usually too chewy to my liking. But this one proves that so long as great chefs are still around, any type of food can be yummy!!

Downside; the main courses are mostly pricey. The only reason I went along with my colleagues - there was a Citibank one for one offer. The Roast Beef's u.p. is S$22 excluding tax. With the promo, the final tab was halved. Phew.

Set Lunch for TWO @ Summer Garden

Mushroom soup. Creamy and nice.

Food Taster Dee. ;D While waiting for the food to come, gotta snap her own pics.

Dee and Boony the Foodies. Yeah! At Summer Garden, Tanjung Bungah.

Tomato soup was... ergh.. looks good but too salty.

Vienna Sausage...

Quiche Lorraine for Boony.

The best was probably the dessert. Good blend of strawberry, cendol, red bean and black sugar with ice-cream. Awwww... Ended up so sweet.

That was my lunch yesterday! Trust me, the photoshopping makes the food looks good. Proudly snapped by my HTC Diamond.
